List of Lasers & Procedures

Alex
The premier laser for removing hair, pigmented lesions and wrinkle is now smaller, lighter and faster than ever. Treats all skin types quickly, comfortably and effectively. This laser offers fast treatment times, unparalleled efficacy, and the greatest flexibility treating a variety of conditions.

Aura
The Aura laser beam passes through the skin and penetrates the targeted vessel. The laser energy heats up and coagulates blood inside the vessel. Unsupported vessel walls collapse and seal. These vessels later dissolve within the body. The cooling tip provides additional safety and comfort during the treatment by lowering the thermal effect on your skin surface. The treated vessels will gradually disappear anywhere between 2 and 6 weeks depending on the severity of the veins.

Botox®
Botox blocks impulses from the nerve to the tiny facial muscles that are related to expression lines. Botox relaxes the muscles so they do not contract. After treatment, the overlying skin remains smooth and unwrinkled while the untreated facial muscles contract in a normal fashion, allowing normal facial expression to be unaffected.

Cosmetic denervation with Botox is a simple and safe procedure. Using a tiny micro-needle, a very small amount of Botox is injected, very precisely, into several locations on the face. Because the needle is so fine and only a small amount of liquid is used, the pain associated with the injections is minimal. Most patients compare the sensation to a bug bite. No sedation or local anesthetic is required, and you can resume normal activities immediately. You can even drive yourself home or back to the office. Some patients experience a slight temporary bruising at the injection site. This can be covered with make-up.

Captique
Captique is a non-animal stabilized hyaluronic acid-based dermal filler and the newest HA filler to enter the U.S. market. It is indicated for correction of moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds (such as nasolabial folds). Captique is injected just under the skin¹s surface to replenish volume lost during the aging process.

Chemical Peels
Chemical peels have been used for over 100 years to create an even and controlled shedding of damaged skin cells. Each year thousands of chemical peels are performed in the United States. A chemical peel uses a solution applied to the skin to remove dead skin cells and stimulate the production of new skin cells. It tightens the skin, reduces wrinkling and restores a more youthful appearance. During your consultation with your surgeon you will want to explain the level of skin improvement you hope to achieve. Your surgeon will then review your medical history and examine your skin type and pigmentation to determine if you are a good candidate for a chemical peel. Together you can evaluate the advantages and disadvantages of the different types of chemical peels, discuss your options, your expectations and determine the best treatment.

Chemical peels can effectively improve a wide variety of skin conditions including:

• Fine lines and wrinkles
• Uneven pigmentation
• Shallow acne scars
• Sun-damaged skin
• Age spots
• Freckling

CosmoDerm and CosmoPlast
CosmoDerm and CosmoPlast are the first FDA approved human collagen fillers commercially available. They are purified from human dermal cells and manufactured in the strictest controlled environment. These natural products are for the treatment of wrinkles, acne scars, other soft-tissue contour deficiencies as well as for lip enhancement. Unlike other collagen replacement products, CosmoDerm and CosmoPlast do not require a pretreatment skin test.

By supplementing your skin’s own collagen with CosmoDerm and/or CosmoPlast collagen, we can smooth out wrinkles and most scars. We can also improve the appearance of deeper frown lines and nasal furrows. Collagen injections are a safe, effective, time-tested, non-surgical wrinkle treatment that provides immediate results.

The Erbium laser has been introduced as the latest advance in laser resurfacing. Patients treated with an Erbium laser feel only mild discomfort during treatment and usually require only a topical anesthetic or none at all. Erbium patients also enjoy the tremendous benefits of healing within only a matter of days to a few weeks, instead of months.

Erbium Laser

The Erbium laser has been designed to remove or noticeably decrease wrinkles and to improve the overall color and skin texture of the face, neck, and hands. Occasionally, additional treatments may be recommended to further enhance your results. Although treatment results will vary depending on various considerations, with few exceptions, you can expect an improvement in the texture and quality of your skin.

As your physician passes the laser light over your skin, a mere 30 millionths of an inch of tissue is removed at a time. This incredible control allows your physician to treat only as deeply as needed, from removing wrinkles to refreshing your overall skin appearance. After the damaged skin is removed, new skin quickly regrows in its place.

Noticeable results are typically seen in a few days, with complete healing in only a few weeks. Light resurfacing around the eyes and lips in general takes only a few days. A deep full facial resurfacing may take longer before you feel esthetically comfortable to return to your normal activities. Camouflage makeup can conceal the redness until the healing is complete.

An Erbium laser can be used to treat the following:

  • Fine Wrinkles
  • Color Irregularities
  • Sun Damage
  • Acne Scarring
  • Sun and Age Spots
Hylaform Plus
This product adds volume to your skin by mimicking the skin's natural hyaluronic acid. Hyaluronic acid is a natural sugar found in all living cells that attracts and binds water, hydrating the skin and giving it volume. Hylaform provides immediate results and does not require a pre-treatment skin test.

Lyra
Through a process called Selective Photothermolysis, the Lyra laser is passed through the skin and is absorbed by pigment in the hair follicle. The heat generated by the laser light both injures the follicle and inhibits future growth, while leaving the skin unharmed.
Laser light will be delivered through a hand held wand attached to a laser console. The process can take from just a few minutes for an upper lip to several hours for a full back and legs. Several days after treatment injured hair follicles will begin to fall out, a process that can be sped up by lightly rubbing the skin with a towel. It may seem that some hair continues to grow for several weeks after the procedure, but many of these will also fall out.

Lipodissolve
The injectable formula dissolves fat, creating dramatic results in problem areas like jowls, chin, love handles, arms, abdomen and thighs in men and women. Cosmetic Enhancement Center of New England is the first in Northern New England to offer this procedure in the privacy of our medical facility.

Omnilux
Ominilux is a high tech device that uses LED technology to effectively and consistently target and destroy P. acnes bacteria.  The Omnilux uses blue LEDs to destroy bacteria and stimulate cell growth. It also uses red LEDs to decrease inflammation, pore size, and limit oil production in the future.  Best of all, Omnilux is painless and non-invasive.

Omnilux™ can be used to treat Mild to moderate-severe acne vulgaris, Non-melanoma skin cancers,Vitiligo and Skin rejuvenation.
Omnilux™ combination phototherapy can be used to condition the skin and to speed up the healing process, before and after a number of popular aesthetic treatments. Omnilux™ combination phototherapy has been successfully combined with;

  • Microdermabrasion
  • Facial peels
  • Laser abalatio
  • Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) therapy
Parisian Peel
Parisian Peel is a safe, non-surgical, comprehensive approach to skin care. Parisian Peel microdermabrasion is not a surgical procedure. There is no down time due to bandages or a long healing process. Microdermabrasion has been used in Europe for years. This exciting procedure offers men and women everywhere an alternative to expensive lasers and painful chemical peels.

Parisian Peels remove age spots, fine lines around the eyes, lips and neck as well as improve the appearance of stretch marks. Using Parisian Peel's advanced microdermabrasion, we can minimize the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, remove blackheads and whiteheads, lessen the appearance of acne scars and improve the appearance of your skin right before your eyes.

Prolite
Type I photorejuvenation seeks to reduce the visible signs of aging  by improving skin texture and tonicity, homogenizes skin color and targets the following common skin concerns:
  • Oxyhemoglobin
  • Melanin
  • Facial Telangiectasias
  • Flushing
  • Symptoms of Rosacea
  • Poikiloderma
  • Post Laser Resurfacing Redness
  • Age Spots
  • Sun Overexposure
Restylane
Facial wrinkles and creases begin to appear as the underlying collagen and elastin fibers begin to break down and wear out. While this breakdown is part of the natural aging process, it can also result from excessive squinting, frowning and smiling. Until recently, the most frequently used material for filling facial wrinkles and frown lines was injectable collagen. However, collagen injections aren't for everyone. A very small percentage of patients are allergic to bovine collagen.

Now a natural product can help you meet your goals without fear of an allergic reaction. This synthetic, bio-degradable hyaluronic acid that forms both Restylane and Perlane(r) has been used in Europe for years.

Restylane is a safe and natural cosmetic dermal filler that restores volume and fullness to the skin to correct moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds, such as nasolabial folds. The procedure is minimally invasive with no downtime. In addition, unlike bovine collagen, Restylane does not require an allergy test, so treatment can be done immediately.

Sclerotherapy
Sclerotherapy is the standard treatment for both varicose and spider veins. The procedure involves injecting a saline solution through a tiny needle into the vein, which then collapses and is absorbed by the body. Treatments involve one or more injections during one or more sessions, depending on the type, number and severity of the veins being treated. By the end of the treatment program, the veins are no longer visible on the skin surface. Sclerotherapy usually also relieves symptoms associated with enlarged veins and prevents further complications from occurring.

On average, one to three sessions are required, spaced four to six weeks apart. After each session, patients may have to wear bandages or support hose for a few days or weeks and are encouraged to walk or exercise to speed recovery. The procedure is outpatient. Bruising and swelling (if present) should fade within a week or two. Sclerotherapy rarely produces more severe side effects such as scarring, although it cannot prevent the recurrence of vascular lesions.

Sculptra - The Ultimate Facial Filler

Sculptra® is an injectable product that restores and corrects the signs of facial fat loss by replacing lost volume. Sculptra® provides an increase in skin thickness, helping to create a more natural facial appearance in those with facial lipoatrophy.

Sculptra® is composed of poly-L-lactic acid, a synthetic material. Sculptra® is not made from human or animal sources and does not require a skin test. Poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA) is a biocompatible (does not harm the body), biodegradable (able to be broken down by the body) material that has been widely used for many years in surgical products. The effects are long-lasting; they were shown in a clinical study to last for up to 2 years after the first treatment session.”

Smoothbeam
As we age, the effects of the sun, wind, time and hormones begin to take their toll. Fine lines begin to form around the lips and eyes. As the collagen that supports the skin wears out, deeper lines and grooves form in our brow, next to the nose and down to the corners of our mouths. Surface irregularities such as pigment discolorations and active acne and scarring may also occur. The Smoothbeam laser treatment employs a patented LASR™ (laser assisted skin renewal) process to safely target and heat collagen in the upper dermis, stimulating new collagen formation. New collagen can improve the appearance of atrophic acne scars by reducing the depth and softening the edges of the scar. The procedure is safe and minimally invasive, with little downtime. Patients generally see results within the second or third treatment.

Titan Laser
The Titan laser utilizes a safe infrared light to heat the dermis well below the skin’s surface. During the procedure, the skin’s top surface (epidermis) is protected through continuous cooling with the Titan hand piece. The most common areas treated are the jaw line, under the chin and the abdomen.

V-Beam
V-Beam is a pulsed dye laser, designed to rid patients of benign vascular lesions. It delivers an intense but gentle burst of yellow light to the skin. The light is specifically absorbed by the blood vessels in the dermis. These blood vessels are coagulated and then reabsorbed by the body during the natural healing process.  The treatment is safe and non-invasive. It is so safe; it is used to treat port wine stains on infants and children.
